Breaking News: Federal Judge strikes down Prop. 8

Yes, Virginia – there are good judges who rule based on the actual Constitution of the United States and not based on some outdated idea.

Read the story here.

I’m sure the wrong wing will be out in force claiming that this was an activist judge ruling from the bench.  Apparently, these people have never actually read the Constitution.

I went to post this morning’s video on YouTube and it was rejected for Terms of Use violation.  I have no idea why.  I scanned through the terms of use and I didn’t see anything.

Then, I looked at the title – Anti-Gay Talking Points.  I decided to change the title and see if it would work then.

Nope that wasn’t it.  Rejected again.

It would be nice to find out why, as I really don’t have time this morning to dig in and try to figure out just what the problem is.

Sorry – video will be delayed this morning.

Just a thought…Rise in Stolen Cars – a sign of real thefts or the bad economy?

Crime in the US has been dropping.  According to the FBI, there were 1,646,037 violent crimes committed in the US in 1989.  In 2008, there were only 1,382,012 violent crimes committed.  Granted, that’s still a bad statistic for those almost 1.4 million people, but good news in general.

Despite that, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute, noticed that there has been an uptick in claims for stolen pick up trucks since 2006.

And, that made me wonder.  Could it have been a sign of the bad economy to come?  Could “stolen” pick up trucks have been planned to be stolen because their owners could no longer make the payments?  The FBI table doesn’t bare out the idea that more vehicles are being stolen from 2005 to 2006, but I was just wondering.
