I don’t think that the people who carry signs that say, “Taxed Enough Already” and who claim that they want to get back to the Constitution have actually read the Constitution. Or, they’ve read it, but it was hard (wasn’t it, Senator Ron Johnson from WI?) Or, they read it so long ago that they just don’t remember what’s in it.
So, I’m going to provide a public service for my Fellow Americans. I’m going to post the United States Constitution right here on my blog. I might comment on the post for the day or I might not, but over the new few days, here comes the Constitution of the United States of America.
Let’s try reading it for a change. And, if you have any questions, please post them in the comments and I’ll try to answer them.
Dear Senator Johnson;
Do us all a favor and sit down. I mean that literally. No more standing up and refusing to give your consent. You’re aren’t Jimmy Stewart in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington“.
You, Dear Senator, are a rich, spoiled businessman (who is used to always getting his own way) turned first time politician and you got lucky in the last election. You won’t be lucky in the next election. The country will be a much different place in the next five years. You admitted that the Constitution is hard to read. I cannot believe that my brothers and sisters of my beloved adopted state actually voted for you. You make Sarah Palin look like a genius and comparing you two is actually insulting to Sarah Palin. I graduated from Lakeland University in Sheboygan with a 2.9 GPA and I can read the Constitution with no problem at all. In fact, you never even gave a crap about this country until 1994, when you first registered to vote – at the freakingly old age of 39! Who doesn’t vote for the first 21 years of eligibility?!? I couldn’t WAIT to turn 18, so I could register to vote! It was a dream come true. I was reared to believe that voting was not your right, but your duty and your obligation to your country. Apparently, you just didn’t bother to pay attention.
Unfortunately, you used four million of your own dollars into fooling the people of this state into believing your lies about Health Care, Feingold’s voting record and your own stances on unemployment and minimum wage and now, you’re our Junior Senator from Wisconsin. And, I am so ashamed to have to admit that. My fellow citizens of my beloved state elected you instead of laughing you out of town. And, now, you are standing up in the Senate and spouting off. If you want to make a difference, try sponsoring a bill. I noticed that you haven’t sponsored 1 – NOT ONE. You have co-sponsored 48 and none of them have made it into law. Well, your record is just astounding! And, don’t side with Paul Ryan on medicare and his budget – this isn’t going to end well for either of you.
So, in closing, here’s what I want you to do. Sit down, shut up and try not to embarrass our great and beloved state any more than you already do.
