Jon Stewart Agrees…

I’m not alone, even Jon Stewart thinks Marcus Bachmann has something to hide.

“He’s so gay, he calls Top Gun that volleyball movie.”  I just love how Bachmann refers to the bi-curious as Barbarians (I’ve heard the whole “interview” and he’s talking about the bi-curious.)

Me think thee lady doth protest too much.

Bachmann and the Debt Ceiling…

Michele Bachmann wants you to believe that she’s fiscally responsible.  She wants you to believe that she and the Republican Party had nothing to do with the economy.  She wants you to believe that the stimulus package was a waste of money and didn’t save jobs.  She wants you to believe that raising the debt ceiling right now would be bad and she’s never voted for a raise.

She’s lying on all points.

Back in April, she voted for Ryan’s budget – the one that changes Medicare and lowers the rich tax rate to 25% (10% down from the 35% they pay now).  The Budget wasn’t balanced – the tax cuts would add more to the deficit than they would “save”.  (You can’t cut income and revenue and pay off debt, it just doesn’t happen.)  If Ryan’s budget had passed the Senate, it would’ve necessitated the raising of the debt ceiling.

That’s not fiscally responsible.

Here’s something else (I’m going through her voting record):

Bachmann voted against the Pay As You Go resolution.  The one that states: ”Vote to pass Title IV of the resolution that amends Rule XXI to require that any tax cuts must be offset by either a different tax increase or spending cut, and to require certain listings of congressional earmarks and limited tax and tariff benefits.

See, apparently, she doesn’t understand how fiscal responsibility works.  You can’t cut revenue without cutting spending.

I’m going to stop here.  I’m going to go through her votes.  I know this woman shouldn’t be President, but I think the rest of the country needs to know it.

Sarah Palin: “I think I can win”

Well, what she actually told a report for Newsweek was: “I believe that I can win a national election.”

I would add something to this, but it is just too ridiculous to ponder.  Even among Republicans, Palin is far below nearly every other candidate out there as their choice.  Even a FoxNews poll conducted in June shows Palin losing to Obama 56% to 35%.

Hey, I’d vote for her in the Republican primary – it would guarantee an Obama re-election.

To be fair, the poll showed Obama beating every Republican Candidate (Romney, Gingrich, Pawlenty).  I was surprised that the poll didn’t include Bachmann.

You know what the sad thing about Sarah Palin is?  Besides the fact that she is a quitter, having resigned from being governor, when she was governor of Alaska, she mostly made decisions that can best be described as middle of the road or centralist.  90% of our nation’s problems could probably be solved by moving to the middle.  However; to make a name for herself or to get the base all worked up or whatever the reason is, Palin dropped her center road and moved very far to the right – not as far as Bachmann, but farther over than the state of Alaska would’ve liked her to be.

This far move to the right is probably the largest reason she doesn’t stand a chance.  The far righters turn off the independents and there are not enough Tea Partiers in the nation to elect a president that is too far to the right.

So, maybe she thinks she can win, but the truth is; she cannot and she couldn’t.

Run, Sarah, Run!

My Top Ten Reasons for NOT voting for Michele Bachmann

10. She thinks John Quincy Adams is one of our founding fathers. And, she believes that our founding fathers worked tirelessly to eliminate slavery. The woman repeats this fallacy every chance she gets. No matter how many times you repeat something, Michele, it doesn’t make it true.

9. She’s received the benefits of government handouts and then lied about them. (Look it up, she claims she and her husband have no interest in a family farm, but they have received income from said family farm according to the annually required financial disclosure reports she filed.)

8. She tried to compare herself to John Wayne and ended up comparing herself to John Wayne Gacy.  Okay, this is a cheap shot.  She keeps banging away at Obamacare with distorted facts and outright lies.  The $105 billion that hidden in there – right in plain sight, not hidden at all and you won’t be able to purchase private insurance, except you can – the whole freaking bill is to help you purchase private insurance.  The woman wouldn’t know the truth if it crawl up her ass and called her flaky.

7. She doesn’t know how many barrels of oil we have in reserve. She claimed that Obama released all of our reserves, when he only released around 4%.

6. This statement from her website:

“It is Michele’s single greatest calling in public service to ensure that the liberties enshrined in our founding documents are handed down from this generation to the next.”

And, again, she doesn’t understand history. The liberties in our founding documents were for WHITE, LANDOWNERS. Women couldn’t vote and the majority of blacks were slaves. Yep, those are the liberties I want upheld!

5. She has sponsored 38 bills – NOT one of which made it out of committee. NOT ONE.

4. She has an obsession with Light Bulb freedom, (she sponsored H.R. 849:Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act) but NOT an obsession with freedom for people – she’s against gay marriage.

3. She is further right on the Political Spectrum & Legislative Leadership scale than Paul Ryan and Jim Sensenbrenner!

2. She “hosted the first Tea Party Caucus meeting.” (According to her website)

And, my number one reason for NOT voting for Michele Bachmann:

1. She believes that cutting taxes will create jobs.

Palin’s Emails

Jon Stewart’s take on the dump of Sarah Palin’s 24,000 emails.

And, may I just add, since there was nothing in them, what the hell took two years?

Palin and Romney Top GOP Contenders for President

According to CNN, a Gallup Poll, Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney are the GOP’s top contenders for the Presidency.  Palin must be letting this go to her head because she’s going to rev up a bus and go on tour of the nation.  Here’s one thing with which Palin and I agree.  The best years of our nation are stretched out in front of us.  Here’s where we differ, if Sarah Palin is elected President, those days may never come.

According to the Poll, Romney has garnered “17 percent of Republicans and GOP leaning independents”, Palin has 15.  Quite frankly, people, that’s nothing to write home about.  15%?  Peanuts.  17% – not enough.  Besides, the position isn’t for President of the Republicans.  It is President of the United States.  Romney barely has a chance and Palin should save the bus fair.

Republican Candidates

I’m just going to say it now, I’m voting for President Obama in 2012.  There isn’t ONE viable Republican Candidate out there who could possibly make me believe for one tiny little second that they would be good for this country.

I thought, perhaps, Newt Gingrich.  Alas, the man let me down.  He attacked Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan – which honestly I don’t have an opinion on, yet – and then he lost his nerve and his cajones and APOLOGIZED after being attacked by the far and not so far right for being honest.  The man gave an honest answer to a question and then backed away from it, which sucks because Gingrich is a centralist and now he doesn’t stand a chance.  <sigh> Here are two of your Republican 2012 Candidates.

Michele Bachmann – Bachmann wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her on her ass and stayed there.  She is the new Sarah Palin – someone pretty that just distorts the truth.  Unfortunately, people who like her don’t bother to go and check to see if she’s telling the truth.  Want an example? According to both FactCheck.org and Politifact.com, “on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 in a speech at the Conservative Principles PAC Conference”, Bachmann said the following:

“One. That’s the number of new drilling permits under the Obama administration since they came into office.”

And, she’s wrong. She’s not just wrong by a little, like she said one and there was really 3 or 4. That I would call a mistake. She’s off by at least 199. That’s a lie. A baldfaced lie made to get her followers all up in arms and mad at President Obama.  Why wouldn’t you want to get your followers all up in arms about something Obama really did that burned your butt?  Nope, Bachmann relies on lies and distorted truth to get her point across.  I know there are smart women in the Republican Party, so why don’t one of them run?

Tim Pawlenty – Pawlenty just announced this past weekend.  Admittedly, I don’t know a lot about him.  So, I did what I always do and I started looking him up on the Internet, find out who his was (former Governor of our neighbor to the north Minnesota) and where he stands. I found a video on CNN.com where Pawlenty is speaking to CPAC.  I’d like to see the whole video, but I’m sure I can find it somewhere.  But, here’s the part that bugs the hell out of me:

“Our freedom is the very air we breathe and make no mistake, the policies of the left encroach everyday on the very freedom that has made this country great. We will never ever ever stop fighting for our freedom.”

Now, I understand that Pawlenty was speaking to a conservative group, so he’s going to lean very far to the right. However; over the last thirty years, (maybe more) the Republican Party has spent more time taking away your rights then they have spent protecting them. Just a couple of examples:

  • They have made it harder and harder to get an abortion. Perhaps you agree with that, but I’m sure if you do, you’ve never been in a spot to need one.
  • The Patroit Act – no comment needed
  • Um, Gay Marriage anyone?
  • Oh, and isn’t it the Republican Governors who are taking away worker’s rights.

Put it anyway you like, but it isn’t the Democrats encroaching on my life. It’s the Republicans.

I’ll review a couple more Republican Candidates soon. It’s gonna be one LONG year until the election.

Gingrich says Sorry to Paul Ryan

This is going to be quick.  Here’s the article.  This is crap.  One of the few things I like about Gingrich is the fact that he usually speaks his mind.  When did we become a nation of “I’m sorry”.  Stop freaking apologizing.  Guess what?  I’m not saying I’m sorry about a political opinion.  Gingrich doesn’t like Ryan’s Medicare plan.  Get over it.

What a bunch of pussies!  Yes, you read that right.  We’re becoming a bunch of political pussies.  If you have an opinion, at least have the freaking balls to stand by it.  If people don’t like it, tough shit.  We whine about how our politicians lie to us.  Well, they do that because we jump down their throats when they tell the truth.  So, they lie and tell us that the check’s in the mail, they love us and they promise not to cum in our mouths and we, excuse the pun, swallow it.  Then, we get mad when the truth of how they really feel comes out.

Good Lord, people!  Get a freaking grip!

Woman is losing kids because she has breast cancer

Have you heard about this?  No, then read the story here.  This is an outrage.  The woman has not done anything wrong as a mother – which should be the only concern the judge has.  Women with drug addictions and rotten boyfriends get to keep their kids, but these children are going to miss out on months with their mother.  These could be her last months.  This is outrageous!

Kathy Lee Gifford thinks Obese means depressed!

Yesterday on the Today Show, Kathie Lee Gifford actually said,”Some would rather be depressed than obese, but you’re depressed anyway when you are when you are obese. “.  It’s in the video from the NBC site below (after the commercial).  Well, I take great offense to that!  I’m the happiest person I know and I’m as fat as fat can be.  Depressed my ass!  What is wrong with her?  What would I be depressed?  People move out of my way in the buffet line!

Would you call Santa depressed?  No, he’s a jolly fat man!

You know who is depressed, those skinny ass models who can’t eat!  That’s who’s depressed.  You ever see one of them smile?  No, you have not because they can eat and smiling takes muscle power they don’t have because they don’t eat.  It is a never-ending  circle!

I demand that the Today Show makes Kathie Lee Gifford apologize for her insensitive and hurtful remarks!  I demand a personal apology!  How dare she call fat people depressed!  We should all call them on Monday morning and demand our due as the heavyweights we are!

Obese People Unite!  Big is Beautiful!  I like big butts and I cannot lie.  You other brothers cannot deny, well you get the idea.  There’s nothing sadder than a fat, white woman trying to rap.

Hey, you gonna eat that?

For those of you without a sense of humor, I mean all of this in a humorous way.  I have no issue with Kathie Lee Gifford’s statement.  It is her opinion and I support her right to have one.  It is a generalization that does have some truth, some overweight people are depressed – just like some skinny people are.  It’s just the way things go.

I, also, wrote this late at night and I’m a little tired.  It might not be as funny as I think it is right at the moment I wrote it.  But, heck, it isn’t like Kathie Lee Gifford will read this and have her feelings hurt by it.
