Why would anyone vote for Michelle Bachman for President?  This woman rivals only Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin for misleading information.

In the last month, Bachmann has gone out of her way to get it all wrong. And, when she gets called out on it, she blames the media.

It would be laughable if this was a sitcom, but this is real life.  Bachmann is considering (she’s announced that she will be forming an exploratory committee) a run for the Presidency.  The last thing this country needs is a President who can’t get anything right – literally.

On Febuary 25, in an interview on the The Laura Ingraham Show, Bachmann said the following:   “I’ve given birth to five babies, and I’ve breast-fed every single one of these babies.  To think that government has to go out and buy my breast pump for my babies? You want to talk about the nanny state? I think you just got a new definition of the nanny state.”1

Except, per usual, Bachmann gets it wrong.  The government is not planning on purchasing breast pumps.  The IRS changed the classification of a breast pump to be a medical device, which means if you spend 7.5% of your yearly income on medical expenses and one of those expenses is a breast pump, you can deduct it.  Now, if Bachmann wanted to say that it shouldn’t be a deduction, why didn’t she say that?  Why would she want to leave the impression that the government is making decisions on whether or not a woman should breast feed?

I have an answer, but I’ll keep it to myself.

Moving on…

On repeated occasions, Bachmann keeps insisting that there is, well, let’s quote her directly.

“There was a Congressional Research Service report that just was issued in February, and we discovered that secretly, unbeknownst to members of Congress, over $105 billion was hidden in the ‘Obamacare’ legislation to fund the implementation of ‘Obamacare’. This is something that wasn’t known. This money was broken up, hidden in various parts of the bill.”2

Oh, snap!

Except, it isn’t true.  According to Fact Check, the $105 billion wasn’t hidden at all.  It is completely out in the open.

Yet, another misleading on Bachmann’s reign of error.

<sigh>

I could go on, but I’m all ready tired of hearing about Bachmann and we still have more than a year and a half left to go before the next Presidential election.
